Timothy P. His career has spanned advanced engineering, product development, and technical sales roles prior to entering law, allowing him to approach intellectual property matters with a multidisciplinary and commercially informed perspective.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Tim advises clients on patent and trademark prosecution, IP enforcement, post-grant proceedings, and licensing agreements. His experience includes managing complex U.S. and international patent portfolios, supporting intellectual property litigation, and guiding clients through IP strategy, enforcement, and commercialization initiatives.
His patented innovations and client representations span a diverse range of advanced technologies, including semiconductor device design and fabrication, digital and analog circuit engineering, software architecture, artificial intelligence and machine learning, blockchain systems, large-scale database design, medical device technology, clean energy solutions, and complex mechanical systems.
Tim began his legal career at a Boston-based intellectual property firm, where he managed domestic and international patent and trademark prosecution and advised clients on a wide range of IP matters. In 2013, he joined Schmeiser Olsen following the merger of his former firm, Guerin and Rodriguez LLP, with Schmeiser Olsen.

TECHNICAL & INDUSTRY BACKGROUND
Before entering legal practice, Tim gained more than 15 years of technical and industry experience, holding key roles in hardware engineering, product management, and technical sales at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc. (BBN), and multiple early-stage technology firms.
This extensive background enables Tim to prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications across a broad spectrum of technologies, including advanced software and business methods, semiconductor devices and fabrication processes, digital and analog circuit design, computer hardware and microprocessor architecture, artificial intelligence and machine learning, blockchain technologies, medical and optical devices, radiation detection systems, chemical and materials processing technologies, database architecture, and complex mechanical systems.
He also brings significant experience in intellectual property due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, as well as advising on licensing and enforcement matters.
